What is your favorite video game? (of all times)

This is something that I've always been wondering about, to know what kind of gamer (all of) you really are.
Because I'm pretty it does influence your gaming style, and I'd like to know more about you. (actually if you post there, I won't be the only one to know, everybody will know it )

I will start this thread with my favorite, which is Quake III Arena (released on December 2, 199) (seems still downloadable here, release 1.32)
I'm sure if you know it if you're a regular UrT player (that you are, if you read this, hmm? )

This is the game I had the most fun with, especially with the Excessive + mod (available here), that turns the game insanely fast:




(Yes, much faster than UrT, I guess I must have screwed my eyes on that)

I am huge fan of Internet Life and would spend my ehole life here , doing crap and worse crap (aside from free p0rn ofc )

So , let's start with one of my Fav and 1st game : Doom 2

so next one is also one of my 1st's and this is : Heroes of Might and Magic series and to be more exact : HoMM 1 , 2 and 3

This like Worlds best Turn-based , Strategy game ever i play it even these days , Even HoMM 2 and 1!! My fav is 2 then comes 3 and then 1 though a lot of guys (like MiV ) will blame for liking 2 more than 3

Let's move along to my really , MOST FAVORITE games of all time , seyously , i am playing it like always , i find new things , doing crap , having fun in it and this game is : Mafia the city of lost heaven.

This game came out early in 200x and were really , really cool and realistic. Game itself looks like GTA but has nothing to do with GTA. Mafia iteslf has unques story-line , Graphics and style , 30-40' style wich is my fav .Game shows us ''Liberty city'' from GTA but in it's early times when thy used Thompsons and magnums.Why is this game better than GTA? well , amswers are next :

Dying when u roll over in car : GTA [ ] Mafia [ X ]
Police always tries to kill : GTA [ X ] MAFIA [ ]
Minor law breaking is tracebale by police (Speeding and drivong past red light : GTA [ ] MAIFA [ X ]

Mafia was more realistic than GTA till GTA 4 came out , so i really wanna thank Czech guys for such an awesome game of all times!

Next , let's go to shooting games My fav shooters are UrT and CoD i like CoD for it's realism and Epic things

And now , game which i am foucused on atm , is World of Warcraft Sequal of All-worldwide-known Warcraft 3

I won't blame u, cuz i didn't play the 2nd part...
So IMO 3 is best, but ofc 1 is a real legend too... (4 sucks and 5 has only graphics... )

And about best game... really impossible to choose just one... if i judged on time i spent on them - and how good time it was - i'd say 1 of those:

I agree with MrYeah. Quake 3 was one pretty awesome game, and definitely one of my all-time faves. But most about Q3 has been said so...

My other big favourite, is Severance: Blade of Darkness, which is the best hack&slash game i've ever played. EVER. (guess where our clan's name comes from) And it's pretty hard. And bloody. And awesome. And did i say it's bloody?

And apart from being bloody, it has a beautiful atmosphere.

Well... what can i say... i am FPS addict since i'm... young
So well there is many games i tryed and liked...
I could Say Counter Strike, as it was basic of what we actually all play ;P
But Halo, Duke Nukem, Doom, Quake (1,2 and 3), Unreal Tournament, etc...

FPS FTW !!!


PS: ofc my first real loved games was my first game (Amstrad, robocop )

Come on disky you like FPS ? so you must mention Team fortress 2 ! and Time Splitters FP ... Ok that's not the basic , but they are awesome fps !

For me i cant say just one game , they are so many ... but the game where i spent the most time is clearly Urban

Ye i love FPS games too, battlefield is very nice game

5.Project IGI (i know it's not a mile stone in game industry but i simply loved that atmoshere)

Any of the Stalker games, but mainly Clear Sky. I hope they bring another one out soon as i really love the whole mix of shooting, trading, choosing your own destiny, and the fact you can wander around the levels making money and never actually having to do any missions if you so wish.

I would say Warcraft 3 with DOTA !!

Favorite game..hmm..don't really wanna post something about all the NES/SNES classics I did and do still enjoy a lot,

There are also a 3rd(+"AddOn") and a 4th part(which is named differently, though), but in my opinion they suck(4 is the worst), so I won't post videos of these.

For me the first two parts are the best RPG's ever.
Back in the days it was one of the first(I even think it was the first) game with a "day and night cycle". It got a great, compelling story.
So many secrets.
And it just creates such a dark, rough, "gothic-like" atmosphere, it's just amazing.


PS:I finished the 1st part ~10times, the 2nd part ~4 times, the 3rd part 2 times and the 4th part once.

Loch , u know , I guess i forgot to mention Gothic u are like my dad he also says that 1 and 2 and 2 : night of the raven is best and 3 was Ok and 3 sucked. I also played Gothic 1 and 2 and what is cool about it , that u can choose who u are and what will u do

I was very confused , when my dad said and i realized that Gothic doesn't need a Mouse to play it's really legend and best RPG game

(Idk have u heard , but Gothic devolopers made game ''Risen'' wich should be Gothic-like , suggesting to try)

I know about Risen, it's quite good(better than Gothic 3+4). Always wanted to play it a 2nd time.(Guess I will soon) :>

There is only one video game which I've been playing for more than 10 years now, since first part came out.
It's pretty much old game, first part has been realised back in 1996, but 10th part is comming out at fall 2012.

Namely it is Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. All parts of course.

The best parts for me are:

1. The last Revelation
2. Chronicles
3. Anniversary (which is celebrating of 10th anniversary since first game, and it is acctually same storyline as first part but in so much better graphic.)
4. Legend
5.Underworld

First two parts were designed by Core desige, the creators of Lara Croft. Unfortunately selling went down so with they biggest failure Tomb Raider Lara Croft: The angel of darkenss which was buggy, they fall in oblivion so the only thing they could do is to sell it to someone who would give lot of work to make another way better part. That was Crystal dinamics. They made whole new graphic of lara, and lot of things had been added. They destroyed this game with 9th part in which they removed "Tomb Raider" from game name and in which you see Lara from bird-view. Selling went down again. So they didn't sold it but decided to do complete reboot of the game,and next part will commence at fall 2012 as I mentioned.

All in all, this game is best for me. Lara is so icy-cool and it shows womens power and ability. She rox.

All right, seems this month I have something to add to my list (well, more a "what i'd like to have" list than "favorites"). What do you think video games were made for? Doing thing that you would never do in real-life! It does look GTA at first sight, but with a lot more fun . And this is exactly what I want in a video-game, "fun over realism"
